Luxury leather goods maison Serapian, founded in 1928 by Stefano Serapian in Milan, prides itself on producing exquisitely produced designs that defy expectations when it comes to accessories. The fashion house has just revealed a brand-new, must-see line of handbags that was developed in collaboration with Emirati designer Sara Altamimi while keeping these principles in mind.
Serpian's admiration for the Middle East and its wealth of local talent inspired him to collaborate with Altamimi on a limited edition capsule collection. According to Giovanni Nodari Serapian, Bespoke Manager, they have always appreciated the grace and beauty of Middle Eastern women, and the collaboration between Sara Altamimi and Serapian is evident in the finished product. “Each bag is an expression of discreet luxury dedicated to those who value quality, beauty, authenticity, and rarity.”
The new collection, a tribute to the beauty of the Emirati woman, includes four styles from Serapian's renowned Secret bag line. Their unique color scheme, influenced by sketches by Sara Altamimi, is what makes them stand out. Additionally, each of the four designs in the collection is only produced in ten pieces, which heightens its exclusivity.
The designer started the creative process by choosing four different sizes of Serapian's Secret bags. Using Serapian's famous customization service, she then enhanced each item and made it uniquely her own by experimenting with various buttery soft nappa leathers and colors.
Altamimi expressed, “I sketch a lot because my head is always bursting with ideas that I want to execute in different ways, and I was excited when Serapian introduced me to a way of executing my ideas through a new medium I hadn’t explored before.”
The new line combines delicate weaves, geometric accents, and whimsical fringe pieces in hues of cherry reds, cold mint greens, piercing black, and sunset orange. It is a fusion of Milanese elegance with Emirati sophistication. Each bag stands out with Serapian's signature Mosaico weaving, which is an outstanding example of the brand's handcrafted design.
